“Yeah yeah, you know you like me.”
“Like?,” Leona chuckled. “Definitely think we’re past that.”
“Oh wait, lemme guess, you tolerate me.”
Leona thinks on that for a moment, giving Tristan a squeeze as they float in the delightfully warm hot springs. “Nah, think we’re past that, too. Lucky you.”
Tristan raised an eyebrow. “Past being tolerated? What a great early birthday present! So what do I get if you’ve gotten past tolerating me?”
“My love.”
“Wait, wha—“
Every time Tristan thinks he's prepared for Leona's antics, the lion manages to find yet another way to keep him on his toes. Words like "love" and "forever" were usually forbidden when it came to Tristan and Leona, never once allowing themselves to think that they qualified to be on the receiving end of such things.
Here in the hot springs, as the world melts around them and they lose themselves in each other's lips, they couldn't be more wrong.
